Sun Stroke & Heat Exhaustion

Dogs should not be allowed to stay out in the sun too long, they may be sun seekers but they can get sun/heat stroke just like us!

Signs of heat stroke are panting, frothing at the mouth and collapse!

Move him out of the sun!! Immerse him in cool water or hose down immediately soak towels and place them on him, keep hosing him at regular intervals. If he wont drink, spray water into his mouth or dampen a sponge and squeeze water into his mouth. If he does not seem to be recovering get him to the vets he will need rehydrating.

When travelling with your dog in hot weather, make regular stops, make sure there is good circulation of air around him, and give him plenty to drink.
